Windhoek to Kalahari
Welcome to Namibia! Upon your arrival at Windhoek International Airport, you will be met and assisted with the collection of your rental vehicle—a Toyota Fortuner or similar 4x4, perfect for navigating the diverse Namibian terrain. (Please ensure you have your credit card ready for the vehicle collection process.)
Your journey takes you into the Kalahari, an exceptionally beautiful living desert. This vast, semi-arid sandy savannah stretches across much of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. Here, the landscape is defined by iconic red dunes draped in golden grass, dotted with resilient acacia trees, and home to a variety of wide-ranging wildlife. This region also serves as a significant sanctuary for the San people, preserving a connection to a landscape that once spanned across the continent.

Today’s journey brings you to Sossusvlei, home to the iconic red dunes of the Namib Desert. The striking contrast between the clear blue skies and the towering orange-red dunes makes this region one of Africa’s true natural wonders and a paradise for photographers. Beyond the famous landmarks like Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Big Daddy, and Deadvlei, you will also have the opportunity to explore the dramatic landscapes of the Sesriem Canyon and the broader Namib-Naukluft National Park, where vast desert plains meet rugged mountain ranges.
For a truly unforgettable perspective, an optional hot air balloon ride is available, allowing you to soar over the world’s oldest desert and witness the shifting colors and shapes of the landscape at sunrise.

Sossusvlei
Today begins with an early departure from the lodge to ensure you enter the Namib-Naukluft Park at sunrise. This is the optimal time to experience the desert, as the temperatures are mild and the low-angled light creates the most dramatic contrasts across the dunes.
Your first stop will be Dune 45, famous for being the most photographed dune in the world. From there, you will proceed deeper into the park for a guided 2.6-kilometer round-trip walk to Deadvlei, where ancient camel thorn trees stand in stark contrast against the white salt pan and orange dunes. For those feeling energetic, there is also the opportunity to climb the upper ridge of Big Daddy Dune, one of the highest in the area, offering breathtaking views from the summit.
After your exploration of the dunes, you will begin the journey back toward your lodge, stopping along the way to visit Sesriem Canyon. This 30-meter-deep gorge, carved over centuries by the forces of the Tsauchab River, offers a fascinating glimpse into the geological history of the desert floor.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
After breakfast, your journey takes you toward the coast. Your first notable stop is the tiny, eccentric settlement of Solitaire. While modest in size, it serves as a vital oasis in the desert, housing the only petrol station, general store, and post office between Sesriem and Walvis Bay—plus a famous bakery known for its apple pie. Continuing on, you will cross the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5 degrees South), a must-stop point for a photo opportunity.
As you near the coast, you will visit the shallow lagoon in Walvis Bay, which ranks among the most important wetland areas in Africa and is a haven for migratory birds, including flamingos. Finally, you will reach Swakopmund, the charming capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism region. Founded in 1892 as the primary harbor for German Southwest Africa, the town retains a distinct colonial atmosphere—often described as being "more German than Germany." You will spend the next two days here at your leisure, enjoying the unique mix of seaside resort amenities and historical architecture.

Swakopmund Exploration
Today is filled with adventure along the Atlantic coast, featuring two of the region's most celebrated marine and desert experiences.
Included Activity: Dolphin Catamaran Cruise
You will enjoy an adventure-packed tour departing from Walvis Bay to explore the stunning Pelican Point area. As you cruise, keep a keen eye out for Namibia's "Marine Big 5"—dolphins, whales, seals, turtles, and the unique Mola Mola (ocean sunfish). The experience is made even better on board the spacious catamaran, where you will be served sparkling wine, fresh oysters, and other delicious snacks.
Sandwich Harbour 4x4 Exploration
Located approximately 50 kilometers from Walvis Bay, Sandwich Harbour is a breathtaking natural wonder where massive desert dunes plunge directly into the Atlantic Ocean. This remote lagoon is a sanctuary for birdlife, providing a prime habitat for rare white pelicans and large flocks of vibrant pink flamingos that feed on the rich marine life of the area. It is one of the most spectacular photographic landscapes in all of Namibia.

Nearby, you will have the chance to visit a traditional Damara village to gain insight into the culture of the area's original inhabitants.
Your exploration continues at the Petrified Forest, where you can walk among prehistoric tree trunks that have been fossilized over millions of years, standing alongside unique, ancient Welwitschia plants. Your morning begins with an immersive game drive into the heart of Damaraland to track the region’s remarkable desert-adapted elephants. Unlike those found in national parks, these rare creatures roam freely across the vast, arid, and rugged landscape.
Accompanied by an experienced and knowledgeable guide, you will navigate through this seemingly hostile environment. These elephants have developed unique behaviors and physical adaptations to survive with limited water and food, often traveling great distances to locate resources. Watching them navigate their desert home is a humbling experience that highlights the resilience of life in one of Namibia’s most dramatic regions.

Full Day in Etosha National Park
Today is dedicated to exploring the vast, arid wilderness of Etosha National Park, one of Southern Africa’s premier wildlife sanctuaries. Known for its accessibility and exceptional game viewing, the park is a haven for nature lovers.
The name "Etosha" translates to "place of dry water," referring to the massive, 5,000 km² salt pan that dominates the park's landscape. While the pan itself is typically a parched, silver-white surface that creates shimmering mirages, it becomes a magnet for wildlife during the rainy season. Regardless of the water levels, the park’s numerous waterholes serve as constant hubs of activity, attracting a diverse array of wildlife including zebra, springbok, endangered black rhinoceros, lions, elephants, and vast herds of antelope. When water does collect in the pan, it creates a unique environment that draws thousands of flamingos.
You have the flexibility to explore the park via a self-guided drive or by booking a guided excursion directly through the lodge. Please note that local park entry fees are not included in your package.
